Parenting situations can be personal. This page explains what the current service handles, what it does not store, and where other providers may retain operational records.
Account information
If you create an account, Supabase stores your email address, authentication records, session information, display name and preferred language. Row-level security limits profile access to the signed-in user.
Parent Copilot requests
The situation and options you submit are sent to OpenAI to produce a response. Parenting Virtue does not currently save Copilot requests or generated guidance in its application database. OpenAI, the hosting platform and infrastructure providers may retain limited logs under their own policies and configured retention settings.
Browser speech input and audio playback
If you choose voice input, your browser’s speech-recognition feature uses microphone audio to create a transcript. Depending on the browser and its settings, the browser vendor or an online speech service may process that audio. The raw recording is not sent to or stored by Parenting Virtue’s guidance API. The transcript appears in an editable field and is sent to OpenAI only after you submit the form, following the same path as typed text. Text-to-speech reads a response only after you press its playback control. Speech processing and voice availability vary by browser and device; review your browser provider’s privacy information and avoid details that could identify a child.
Anonymous product analytics
Optional analytics are used only after you accept. Consenting visitors receive a random first-party visitor ID; at acceptance we store limited source information (referrer origin, allow-listed campaign tags and a coarse route section) and daily pseudonymous activity for 7- and 30-day return measurement. Signed-in members are measured separately using a keyed pseudonymous account identifier, including when anonymous analytics are declined; visitors without consent have no persistent analytics ID and their cross-session retention cannot be measured. Events never include Copilot prompts or responses, parenting-situation text, child names or other sensitive family content. Declining does not limit public content or basic Parent Copilot access.
Security and responsible sharing
Connections use HTTPS in production and account access is managed through Supabase. No online service can promise absolute security. Please avoid names, addresses, school details, health identifiers or other information that could identify a child.
Your choices
You can use the educational library without creating a child profile. Account deletion and data-export tools are not yet self-service; do not rely on the site to keep a personal parenting history. We will update this notice when those capabilities or our data practices change.
